Frostbite Frostbite includes damage to blood vessels, nerves, muscle, tendon, bone, and skin caused by freezing temperatures. If you get frostbite once, the tissue is now more susceptible to future frostbite.
Frostbite and Chilblains Frostbite causes the skin to become cold, pale and numb from poor *circulation after exposure to cold. The areas most easily affected by frostbite are the fingers, toes and ears. Parts of the face are also prone, especially the nose and chin.
Hypothermia Hypothermia is low body temperature, usually due to being out in cold weather with insufficient clothing. Local symptoms of hypothermia are *frostbite and chilblain.
